Now that’s what we call a big Friday when it comes to significant new local releases [wipes sweat from brow]. Announcement highlights for the week included dream-pop masters French For Rabbits are embarking on a nationwide The Dark Arts tour this summer season, Tāmaki Makaurau noiseniks Swallow The Rat are leaping back into action for their first run of shows since the global pandemic required them to cut their USA tour short back in March, top tier Radiohead tribute group Hail To The Thieves (feat. members of Jakob) are headlining Wellington’s San Fran in early December, and the champs at Low Strung Productions are presenting a special three date tour starring Pōneke-based dynamic duo Nic and Reuben for November. We put together a handy guide to Audio Foundation‘s humungous six night and two day Now Hear This! mega-festival of "glorious noise, sublime sounds, singular songs and ecstatic improvisation," which has only just reached the half-way point — dive in and open your ears to new local sounds here and look forward to a big weekend ahead. Don’t forget to get out there, have your say and vote this Saturday (if you haven’t done so already) in the 2020 General Election!
